Some older plastic surgeons still recommend two staged surgeries: liposuction followed by a tummy tuck ~6 months later. In some cases due to health concerns with the patient, this might be recommend, but for most patients, there are several advantages to combining a tummy tuck and liposuction.
1. Enhanced waist Want that snatch or more definitive waist? For most women it is best achieved through liposuction of all excess fat. At that time you will also have the most excess skin which the surgeons can access to remove. This results in a very curvy figure for most women. 2. Remove exercise resistant fat We all have places where our body naturally stores body fat first. For most people it is their love handles. These can be very resistant to dieting or weight loss but can be easily address through liposuction. Have another area like your thighs, besides your breasts, or back. Ask to add those areas to your surgery as well. 3. Only one recovery For most people, the recovery is what stops them from doing a surgery. The thought of not picking up there kid or being home bound for a couple of weeks seems insurmountable. It takes careful planning to arrange help to allow for a recovery. For both liposuction and a tummy tuck it is often easier to combine to only have one recovery. 4. Does combining the procedures increase chance of complications? Short answer is no. In fact it is most likely better to only have one surgery versus two surgeries. With a board certified plastic surgeon, they should require the proper clearances, labs and screening to ensure you health for an elective cosmetic surgery. 5. What about the bruising and swelling? Typically women will have bruising and swelling from a tummy tuck. If you are considering a body contouring procedure, discuss the recovery with your plastic surgeon especially if you are on the fence about combining liposuction with a tummy tuck. If you're considering a combination tummy tuck with liposuction, make sure you choose a board-certified plastic surgeon who verified experience with those surgeries, excellent reviews online, and ample before and after photos. The first decision is primarily whether you want a saline of silicone implant. Different plastic surgeons may prefer different manufactures or brands of breast implants. They may prefer an implant manufacturer based on the results both short and long term, implant manufacture warranty, or due to price.
The top four implant brands are as follows: 1. Allergan Allergan is very well known brand in the world of aesthetics. Recently Allergan was acquired by AbbVie in 2020. AbbVie is a global biopharmaceutical company with drugs like Humira, Rinvoq, and Skyrizi. Most commonly referred to as Natrelle implants these are available as gummy implants (more firm type of silicone implants), silicone / gel implants, and saline implants. These are usually the most expensive implants and most common brand of implants. 2. Mentor Mentor was founded in 1969 and has an excellent reputation for implants. They are now owned by Johnson and Johnson, and they offer three main types of implants: Contour Profile Gel, Memory Gel, and saline implants. 3. Sienta These implants are manufactured in Brazil. They have a 20 year warranty on implants and offer both high-strength cohexive gel and high strength cohesive gel plus implants. Mentor was founded in 1969 and has an excellent reputation for implants. They offer three main types of implants: Contour Profile Gel, Memory Gel, and saline implants. 4. Ideal Implants Ideal Implants were founded in 2006 by a plastic surgeon and is privately held. These are structured implants with multiple silicone shells to help the implant feel more like a silicone implant but they are filled with saline. These are not as common as the other implant options. We recommend you ask during your consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon the brand the surgeon prefers and why the surgeon prefers that brand versus the others. You want to ensure the surgeon is considering results first and foremost and not the price. If you are interested in breast augmentation in San Antonio, set up a consultation with Dr. William Albright, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. It is often something people do not speak about is very private. When you realize someone has had a tummy tuck, you may be very surprised. For a good tummy tuck, the results are quite natural-looking and any scars easily hidden with bikini bottoms.
While the natural results are great for tummy tuck patients, it can lead other women to feel self conscious about their own stomachs. Often due to pregnancy, weight gain and loss, or genetics, women have diastasis recti (separation of abdominal muscles leading to the stomach pooching out) and excess skin caused from the weight gain and loss. There are many myths circulating around tummy tucks. Many women have different experiences and there are multiple online sources, Facebook groups, and chat rooms that can have misleading information. In this article, we debunk some of the common tummy tuck myths that many of our patients ask at their consultations. It is truly a life-changing surgery, and we do not want any of the myths to hold you back. Below we have exposed some of the common tummy tuck myths. Myth #1 – Tummy Tucks are for Weight Loss We often receive inquiries from people at their peak weight and still gaining. They see tummy tuck as a "quick" fix to the unwanted weight gain. In this case, there is no excess skin to remove. For a tummy tuck, you should be close to your goal weight and at a stable weight for at least six months. They can be combined with liposuction to remove stubborn unwanted fat. On average, however, a tummy tuck with liposuction removes approximately 4-5 pounds. Due to swelling and forced inactivity during recovery after surgery, most people gain back any weight lost in surgery and sometimes more! Tummy tucks and liposuction should be thought of as a body contouring procedure not a weight loss procedure. Dr. Albright will essentially remove the excess skin on you belly and stitch the incision up for a flatter and svelte tummy. Myth #2 - One Tummy Tuck for Everyone There are actually four main types of tummy tucks which Dr. Albright will go over each of these with you and tailor the procedure to meet your goals based on your unique physique. 1. Full Abdominoplasty - The common scar pattern is a horizontal (side-to-side) scar located above the pubic mound near where a C-section scar would be placed. The scar is contoured and positioned so that it should be fairly easy to hide with most types of underwear and bikini bottoms. The scar is longer than a C section scar, and the length depends on how much skin needs to be removed with a "mini abdominoplasty" having the shortest length scar. Occasionally, if the belly button is being relocated, a short vertical scar may be necessary between the belly button and the low horizontal scar, and a scar will be placed around the ‘new’ belly button. 2. Mini / Partial abdominoplasty - This will allow skin removal only below the belly button. 3. Fleur de lis abdominoplasty - Often used for people who have gone through a significant weight loss journey. 4. Extended abdominoplasty - For those that have had an extensive weight loss journey this may be required to lift your buttocks and thighs as well. Myth #3 – Tummy Tucks are Only for Women who have been Pregnant This is not true. Although it is most common in women who have had several pregnancies, typically a tummy tuck is recommended if there has been a large weight loss regardless if you have been pregnant. More men are also opting for male tummy tucks after weight loss as they are uncomfortable with the loose skin around their belly and having to wear certain clothing to hide the bulge. Myth #4 – Everyone can See Your Scars Expert plastic surgeons know exactly how to place the scar so it is very discrete and easy to hide. In fact, most people will never see your tummy tuck scar or even guess you have had a tummy tuck. In both men and women, most scars are place below the underwear line. Even in cases when your scar may be visible, it is generally not that noticeable. Most people twelve months or greater after the surgery are not bothered by the scar and describe it as faded white line that becomes more and more faint. Myth #5 – Tummy Tucks are Only for Young People Typically most patients who get a tummy tuck are in there 30-50s. We have had several patients in their late 60's have a tummy tuck, however. The only requirement for surgery is to be healthy for an elective cosmetic procedure. Often women or men find it can help kick start a retirement or add a little confidence. From patient feedback, these are some of the questions patients wish they asked or researched before moving forward with surgery. 1. What do your negative reviews say? Typically patients will research their plastic surgeon to ensure they are you certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, look at reviews, and before and after photos. Often plastic surgeons will have 200 - 400 reviews on Google or RealSelf. It is very rare that they have below a four star rating. You should sort the reviews based on the one star review. It will typically tell you the negative feedback on the surgeon. If consistent negative feedback, you know this may be something to expect if you move forward with that plastic surgeon. 2. How many revisions do you do? This should include dog ears, scar revision, breast implant revision, etc. 3. How Many of x procedures do you perform Monthly? Please show me photos. You want to make sure the plastic surgeon is routinely doing the procedure you are interested in (breast augmentation, tummy tuck, mommy makeover, etc.). 4. Do you have Hospital Privileges? If yes, then which Hospital Systems? One of the initial questions you should ask your plastic surgeon at the consultation is where they will perform your procedure. In some cases the surgeon may perform the cosmetic procedure at a their own surgical center. In this case, you should ask if they have privileges at local hospitals as well. If they do not, this is a red flag. They should have privileges in case of emergencies. 5. What percentage of Surgeries have Infections? Infections can delay your recovery and lead to inferior results. 6. How many dog ears have you fixed? Dog ears are a natural consequence of tummy tuck surgery. In most cases, plastic surgeons can minimize them so they are not a nuisance. Typically, plastic surgeons will have a rule about what they will fix for free and what would require additional payment to fix. You should ask about this up front so you understand your plastic surgeon's policy. 7. Any upcoming sales or discounts? Most reputable plastic surgeons do not offer sales or discounts. They want you to book with them because they are the best surgeon for you not due to pressure sales tactics. 8. What are your after hours policies? Typically plastic surgeons will be available 24-7 either through the office number or a personal cell phone. They should be available if there is any urgent issues. 9. How are umbilical hernias treated? Many women after having children have umbilical hernias. You should ask your plastic surgeon how these may be treated. 10. Is Mons Lift included? How will this change my vagina? 11. What does all inclusive mean? Typically the quote you receive from the surgeon will include the surgeon's fee, anesthesia, surgery facility fee and any implants. What they usually do not include is prior lab work, mammograms, pathology, or post-operative garments or supplies. If you have any questions, make sure to ask. Bottom Line In a nutshell, there are several things you need to determine and understand about your surgeon, the facility, surgery, and everything after the surgery. The more clear vision and expectations you will have about your surgery, the more satisfied you will be post-surgery. So, make sure to dig into every aspect of the plastic surgery process to make the best decision for you. What does cc mean? So, what does cc mean? This acronym stands for cubic centimeters, which is a standard unit of volume. It is how the volume of silicone or saline is measured to determine the size of breast implants. The higher the ccs, the larger and heavier the implants. Typically implants range from 100 cc - 800 cc and can be in 10 cc increments or less. Since most patients know they want to be a B, C, D, etc size this can be very confusing. Adding a cup size for one person may be only 100 cc but adding it for another may be 300 cc. It is not correlated directly to cup size. When you arrive for your appointment at Alamo Plastic Surgery, Dr. Albright will show you before and after photos and give you examples of implants at each sizing option based on your anatomy. Looking at photos of other patients who have a similar build often gives the most accurate depiction of what to expect after surgery. Dr. Albright will also teach you about the benefits of saline versus silicone breast implants based on your goals. How many ccs for the best breast augmentation? During a consultation with board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. William Albright, he will measure how much natural breast tissue exists and help you determine how many ccs are required to achieve your goals. One breast cup size is about 175cc, but the results may also vary based on the implant projection, dimensions, and existing breast volume. For example, a 300cc implant may not look huge on a petite woman and small on a very tall woman. Find your ideal breast implant size At Alamo Plastic Surgery, we help patients find their ideal breast implant size based on their goals. We do not have a one size all approach. For example, some women want smaller implants to assist in an active lifestyle, others want to fill out a favorite swimsuit, and others simply want their breasts to return to pre-baby volume. No matter your unique goals, Dr. Albright has the experience to help. Some considerations for breast size include:

This is one of the most recent methods of improving the appearance of facial features.
Facial Firming Fats is a cosmetic surgery that adding more fat to the area of the body that needs it most. Facial fat grafting helps improve hollowed out features as well as adding volume to the skin to tighten it up. Face fat grafting has been a popular cosmetic surgery for many years, but this procedure is now being used for more than just cosmetic reasons. Facial fat grafting has also become a popular choice for those wanting to improve facial features by creating extra tissue. FACIAL FAT GRAFTING FAQ’S How painful is facial fat grafting? The facial fat grafting injected into the face is similar to injection of fillers. It utilizes similar injection points, but just a slightly larger diameter blunt tip cannula (the tip of the injecting needle is not sharp like traditional needles). The donor site is where the fat is obtained on your body. This is usually somewhere on the belly, and is harvested similar to liposuction surgery, except only a small area is needed to harvest, as only small amounts of fat are needed in the face to achieve a cosmetic improvement. Is fat grafting safe? For injection into the face, the procedure has similar risks to traditional off-the-shelf fillers. Namely, there is a very small risk of injection into a blood vessel. The risk of this may actually be lower for fat injection, as the injecting cannula used is larger in diameter and blunted at the tip, thereby making it more difficult to inject into a small vessel of the face. There is a very low risk for infection, and asymmetry or incomplete correction of the defect. Fat transfer may be better than traditional fillers as there is no substantial risk of "reacting to the filler", as the injected fat is your own cells! More recently there has been concerns raised about fat transfer when the fat is dramatically altered either mechanically or by treating the fat chemically. This is still being researched and is one of the reasons Dr. Albright does not substantively process the fat. He will be able to help you decide which options are best to achieve your goals! He is a well known plastic surgeon in Texas. A unique issue with fat grafting is the variability of fat graft "take", meaning who much of the tissue injected will survive the transfer. Although this is a well documented phenomena, the volume of fat that survives is not easily predicted. As with any procedure a small touch-up may be desired. But as far as long term facial filling, fat can't be beat! Can facial fat grafting be combined with other procedures? Yes. Dr. Albright is often able to combine this procedure with both reconstructive and cosmetic procedures. He is an expert in multiple facial fat graft surgeries. As liposuction is commonly performed during body contouring or breast surgery, some of this fat can be utilized to inject into the face, while the patient is under anesthesia. Ask Dr. Albright if this is a possibility for you! He is one of the best surgeons for facial fat graft surgery, and he will assess these risks and will be happy to give you his honest opinion. Where is the fat injected in the face? Fat can be injected in almost any region of the face, given certain precautions for vessel injury. Fat can be used to smooth over (fill up) creases/folds in the face, or to provide general bulk to a structure. The most commonly treated deep wrinkles (rhytids) in the face are forehead, glabella (between the brows), eyebrows, around the eyes, cheeks, and around the mouth. Common areas needing additional volume include cheeks, lips, chin, and prejowl (area just inside the skin that usually hands past the bottom of the jaw, named the 'jowl'). Dr. Albright will give you an in-depth assessment of options for you. He is well versed in body contouring liposuction, and will help you improve your shape today! He is one of the best facial fat graft surgeons in San Antonio TX. A board certified plastic surgeon will be able to create fat and then place it in the area of need. The fat can be placed into the crease of your cheekbones or on your jaw line. The amount of fat and how it will be placed will be determined before the surgery. The surgeon will also use an endoscope to see inside your mouth to determine the best placement. An endoscope is like a small telescope and the surgeon will have the ability to see inside your mouth without actually having to touch it. There are some risks when it comes to applying fat into your face. One of the major risks is that the doctor may miss the spots on your face where fat is needed. If the fat is not properly placed, the procedure may produce results that do not look as natural. Facial fat grafting can also be done to the back, chest and arm area. There are many ways that fat can be injected or used to fill up the areas of your body where there are thinning areas. Some people believe that adding fat to the back, chest and arm areas is more effective than using filler. This is because these areas can be more challenging to work on than other areas. Many people may use fat to make their face more pronounced. For instance, adding extra fat on the nose or cheeks can make them seem more pronounced. Other people opt to add more volume to the sides of their face. They believe this can make their face appear taller and more defined. After the cosmetic surgery the doctor will most likely make a small incision in order to insert the fat. Some people choose to use a more permanent method that involves stitching. This procedure is more effective because they can create a stronger connection between the skin and the collagen. However, there is still a risk of scarring if the scar is noticeable after the procedure. Once the collagen is applied to the body's elasticity should allow it to wrap around the existing skin. When the scar tissue is removed, the fat should be able to pull on the existing tissues and leave new skin and tissue underneath. This new tissue is used to replace the old fat and create a brand new face. It may take a while for the body to heal but it should not be noticeable and the patient may feel less pain than with this surgery. The skin should be well protected from sun exposure after the procedure. Most doctors suggest avoiding any strenuous activity for about a week. Skin care should also be done during this time to prevent further damage from the sun. A doctor will usually recommend wearing a sunscreen and keeping the face out of the sun for about two weeks after the operation to avoid further sun damage. There are some disadvantages to getting fat grafting surgery. If you have a history of acne or other facial blemishes, your doctor may not be able to use fat effectively. Another advantage to using fat is that you do not have to shave your face. When considering any procedure like facial fat grafting it is important to discuss the advantages and disadvantages with your doctor. The doctor will explain the options and the procedure in detail so that you know what to expect and will help you decide if it is right for you. Okay so if you are new to the cosmetic surgery world before and after photos may seem overwhelming, daunting, and a little intimidating. Board certified plastic surgeons consider their before and after photos their work portfolio similar to any photographer, interior designer, or videographer. As everyone is different, good plastic surgeons take into account every detail to deliver their patients customized aesthetic goals! 1. Will I have to take before and after photos? Most plastic surgeons today will require you to take before and after photos so they can document results. No plastic surgeon is allowed to share those photos without your permission. If at any time, you decide you don’t want to share your photos, doctors are required to stop showing them. ~70% of people dundefineo not mind showing photos if they are of the body with no distinguishing characteristics (face is not shown or tattoos). As often people have used before and after photos to decide on a surgeon, they do not mind sharing their photos for educational purposes. 2. Find your Doppleganger or Someone Who looks like you In other words, try to find a patient who is physically similar to you. Pay close attention to the breast and body shape. The importance of this exercise is to help you better picture realistic results. You want someone with a similar build (shoulder span, breast height, and nipple positioning). This can help you determine what size of implant is best. Implant size is measured in cubic centimeters (CCs). Many surgeons will list the details on the implant size in the description of the before and after photo. Based on these pictures, you should be able to tell a rough size and shape of implant which appeals to you. 3. Look at the scars For breast enhancement surgery, the scars can be so minor or hard to see in the before and after photos as often they are hidden in the breast fold. If there is obvious scarring or abnormalities in the after photos, this would be a surgeon to avoid. 4. Look at the Nipples For breast augmentation surgery, it is important to look at the nipples. Do they look off centered when they were not before? Are the mounds or breast implants symmetrical on the body? Do they look too close together? This can be important and your plastic surgeon should speak to you about this. 5. Example photos Bring photos to consultation with plastic surgeon on how you want your breast to look. Just like going to your hair stylist for a new cut or color you should also bring pictures to your plastic surgeon. It doesn’t even have to show the full breast but let your surgeon know how much cleavage you want and the general shape of the breast. Typically they will speak about it as lower pole (bottom of the breast) and upper pole (top of breast) volume. Your plastic surgeon can guide you to the right pocket and implant (silicone or saline) to meet your goals. This procedure is similar to breast augmentation but has a different purpose. It is a surgical method in which patients has a breast reduction in combination with a breast augmentation procedure. In this surgery, your surgeon removes extra tissues from your breast so that they can replace them with the implant. As a result, you will get smaller breasts with a more appealing appearance as well as long-lasting fullness on your breast.
It is true that breast reduction augmentation surgery significantly helps in the correction of macromastia. The new modern methods have helped the health providers to use a one-stage method of breast reduction by combining the breast implant technique, offering you reductive augmentation as a solution. Who is a Good Candidate for this Surgery? Reductive Augmentation surgery is an innovative practice that provides you a breast that has fullness on the upper pole and round appearance. Additionally, this unique surgical method is also helpful to solve breast asymmetry. Patients who have problems like pseudoptosis, which results in dropping of the bottom of your breast because of undergoing breast augmentation, can also resolve this problem. You also need to know that you can get reductive surgery, whether you have undergone mastopexy or not, during breast augmentation. Choose the Right Implant When it comes to reductive augmentation, you also need to choose the right implant in order to get the right shape and size of your breast. But choosing the right implant for your surgery can be extremely challenging and daunting, as you want a smaller breast. This is why you need professional and expert help to choose the best implant based on your body size and frame. We recommend choosing a board certified plastic surgeon with great online reviews and testimonials. They should give you ample choices of shapes and sizes that will help you make the decision. You will typically be asked to try them on first and you can feel them as well. Best Shape Your surgeon will offer you different types of implants with different shapes, sizes, and compositions. It includes silicone and saline breast implants. Both of these implants come in all shapes, but the procedure of injecting these implants into your body is different. Not to mention, surgeons also make different types of incisions for both implants. Your plastic surgeon should also discuss the advantages and disadvantages to silicone versus saline implants. Best Size The size of every type of implant, either silicone or saline, is calculated by the volume of the implant. Health professionals measure them with cubic centimeters, which is, of course, challenging for you to understand. Apart from the volume, breast implants have different widths that professionals measure through the diameter. This is why you need an expert’s help who can help you understand the right diameter size of the implants for your anatomy. Most of the patients who opt for breast reduction understand that they don’t have the breast size that matches with their rest of the body. In this case, you need to choose an implant that can correct this problem. Patients who have narrow shoulders, smaller frames, slimmer hips, and thin torsos need to choose a smaller implant. In comparison, women who have larger frame can pick bigger implants that don’t give them an unnatural appearance and looks appropriate with their waist, shoulder, and height. Reduction Augmentation Consultation Your surgeon will provide you all the necessary information and details about the surgery in your first consultation. They will also ask you to provide some information so that they can make a better plan for your surgery. You will need to give health history, allergies details, medication information, and tobacco or alcohol consumption details. It is also important to note that if you had undergone breast surgery before, you need to tell your plastic surgeon. Make sure to tell your plastic surgeon about every health problem related to the breast so that your plastic surgeon can be prepared to handle all possible situations. Pre-Surgery Before the surgery, your surgeon will give you anesthesia so that you don’t feel pain. However, because of anesthesia, you will also need help to drive back home after the surgery. So, ask your family or friend to help you with house chores and other things for few days after the surgery. If you choose a reputable and experienced health organization, then you will get the anesthesia from a board-certified anesthesiologist. Make sure to follow all the pre-operative guidance of your surgeon. Also, avoid drinking and eating after midnight. If your surgery is after the morning or late evening, you need to get clear instructions from your surgeon. Don’t forget to tell your doctor of any medications you are taking. Follow all the guidelines of your surgeon regarding the surgery to get the optimal results. You also need to know that you will need to wear loose-fitting and comfortable clothing after the surgery. Furthermore, some excellent surgical centers offer their patients to stay overnight if they are concerned about going back home feeling lightheaded because of anesthesia. Post-Operative Recovery You will get a follow-up appointment after the reduction augmentation surgery. Your plastic surgeon will also suggest you ask someone to stay for at least a night with you after the surgery. You will also experience pain and discomfort in the first week following the surgery. This is why we recommend you to take off for at least a week from your office. You also need to prevent doing any strenuous activity that may put a strain on your breast and incisions. Your plastic surgeon will also give you some medications to ease your pain. Depending on your surgeon’s recommendation, you may also need to apply an elastic bandage. Your doctor will also ask you to wear a special bra to accelerate the healing process. Some patients also have minimal scarring that they can cover with a bathing suit or bra. These scars usually fade with time, but you need to choose a skilled cosmetic surgeon to minimize the scar. Make sure to do rest as much as possible and follow the guidelines of your surgeon. Looking for a breast augmentation in San Antonio? You might not know, but the double bubble or breast fold is one of the most common issues that occur after breast augmentation. Although it is common in those patients who choose less experienced and qualified cosmetic surgeons for their surgery, it is a problem that can develop in any breast implant patient. This is only a cosmetic issue, and typically a qualified plastic surgeon avoid this complication.
There are several methods and techniques that can help a cosmetic surgeon limit the chances of the development of breast folds. What is the Inframammary Fold? The breast fold is also known as Inframammary Fold (IMF) or inframammary crease. It is the natural boundary underneath the breast, the place where the chest and the breast meet. According to doctors, IMF is the most important factor when it comes to defining the lower pole of your breast. Additionally, it is important for your health provider to understand how and when they can lower the inframammary fold to get the desired shape through breast augmentation. You also need to know that every patient has a different degree and positioning of the inframammary fold. The link below is a great explanation on Instagram.
A double bubble deformity can sound scary. Hence, if there are some clinical methods that can help you define the folds in a better way, you need to opt for them. Your surgeon will suggest you lower the native IMF. But before that, they will do a simple and straightforward arm test, which will help them to recognize problematic folds.
In this case, your plastic surgeon will ask you to raise your arms straight upwards. This way, they will notice four distinct types of folds. The first one is type zero– that’s a nonexistent fold. This fold is not significantly visible, and it is really challenging to identify it. A doctor can lower this fold anywhere because of not having any existing fold. After that, there is a moderate fold or type two fold, which is thicker than the zero one. Doctors can’t identify this fold until you raise your arm. It is 50% effacement, which means fold is present there, but this fold is upwards, making it 50% less noticeable. You can also lower the third fold, but your surgeon will be more cautious with it, as you may also want a fat graft. This is why your doctor needs to keep the lowering as low as 2 cm. To make sure that the fold is completely resolved and no muscle is coming over it, the doctor may also use a dual plane interface. Then it comes to the most challenging and complex fold, which is the hardest to detect. When you lift your arms, there will be no change in this fold. This means the fold also rises up when you raise your arm, which makes it different from other folds. Your cosmetic surgeon needs to identify it, as it is the most problematic fold. You can get it lowered, but your doctor has to design a plan for it. Your surgeon may also tell you that it will be challenging to lower this fold, as there are size limits when it comes to lowering this fold. Torso and IMF Position It is also important to know that torso plays a great role when it comes to planning the IMF position. The torso is a body part that people often overlook; they focus on the breast only, forgetting it is attached to your whole body. This is why the torso is very relevant in your IMF planning. Some surgeons even consider nipples after torso when thinking about IMF’s right position. A cosmetic surgeon will decide where the waist starts and the breast ends. They will create an excellent strategy for getting an aesthetic appearance of the entire body. This makes it vital to determine where the waist starts and where the chest space ends. In a nutshell, if you have a short torso, it’s better to avoid lowering the fold. Patients with long torso have more flexibility to do whatever they want. Inserting an implant in your breast is not the only thing that helps you achieve an aesthetic appearance. To get excellent breast augmentation results, you need to consider many factors, such as your breast fold. Plus, there are several other things that help you achieve your desired breast shape and size. So, it is vital to choose a plastic surgeon who has a better understanding of human anatomy, and they can work out all possible problems. Bottom Line Breast fold or inframammary fold is a problem that can occur in any breast augmentation patient. However, if you choose an experienced, reputable, and knowledgeable board-certified plastic surgeon, your chances of developing this fold are minimal.
